Etihad and Air New Zealand sign codeshare deal

Travellers heading to Australasia this year will have a wider range of flight options to choose from as a result of a codeshare agreement between Etihad Airways and Air New Zealand.
Etihad will codeshare on the Australasian airline's trans-Tasman and domestic services to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Rotorua.
Air New Zealand will provide access to the Middle Eastern carrier's routes linking Abu Dhabi to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in Australia.
The deal will also cover Etihad's services between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow.
Rob Fyfe, Air New Zealand's chief executive officer, said the agreement will allow the carrier to expand its presence in the Middle East and boost passenger numbers on its trans-Tasman and domestic flights.
Etihad chief executive James Hogan said: 'This opens up five key destinations in New Zealand that we have been eager to offer to our customers for a long time and we are certain the connections and seamless flight experience offered by Etihad and Air New Zealand will appeal to business and leisure travellers.'
