Frankenstein arrives in London

Frankenstein arrives in London
28 Feb 2011

People planning a trip to London over the coming weeks will have the opportunity to experience one of the most eagerly anticipated theatrical events of the year.

Frankenstein is now showing at the National Theatre and is taking bookings until 17 April 2011.

Nick Dear's adaptation of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic horror story has been brought to the stage by Danny Boyle, the dynamic British director behind hit movies such as Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours.

London visitors planning to catch a performance of the show will be able to see two well-known actors - Jonny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch - alternating in the roles of Victor Frankenstein and his hideous creation.

Cumberbatch appeared in the recent BBC television series Sherlock, while Miller has worked with Boyle before on Trainspotting and starred in other films including Hackers and Love, Honour and Obey.

The new production has gone down well with critics, with the Daily Telegraph calling it 'a thrill' and the Independent stating that both actors are 'transcendent'.
