New cultural attractions opening in Alicante

There will be some new experiences on offer to culture vultures visiting the Spanish holiday hotspot of Alicante this year, with two attractions set to open in the city centre this month.
The Auditorium of Alicante (ADDA) will open its doors on 16 March, followed by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante on 22 March.
At the art gallery, visitors can see an impressive collection of 20th century art including paintings, sculptures, drawings and other works by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Marc Chagall.
The opening of the attraction - which occupies the space of the former Casa de la Asegurada, a 17th-century palace - will be celebrated with a film festival running until 26 May.
ADDA features a main concert hall providing capacity for up to 1,500 spectators, as well as eight multi-purpose rooms for conferences and exhibitions.
A series of conferences and special family activities will be taking place to celebrate the venue's inaugural season, including two charity concerts on 2 April to mark the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion.
