Travellers planning a trip to Vienna this year will have the opportunity to visit some new attractions.

In April, Madame Tussauds will open its 11th international branch on Riesenradplatz in the Austrian capital.

The 15,000-square-metre waxworks museum will showcase a collection of 65 lifelike models, including famous historical figures such as Emperor Franz Joseph, Mozart, Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein.

Guests will also be able to see representations of some more modern celebrities at the new attraction, including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Lady Gaga.

Also opening its doors this year is the Augarten Porcelain Manufactory's museum, which explores the history of the company and its products.

The Augarten factory has been producing high-quality porcelain since 1744, using a process that will be explored at the new museum.

Recent statistics from the Vienna Tourist Board show that the city achieved a new record of 10.86m overnight stays by visitors in 2010, representing growth of 10.3% from the previous year.
