Vienna 'a city easily explored'

Holidaymakers heading to Vienna this year will find that the Austrian capital is 'a city easily explored', according to travel writer Emily Payne.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Ms Payne reveals that she made her way through much of Vienna on foot during a recent visit, which she describes as 'like a trip through the centuries'.
Guests can look out for historically significant locations such as the Ring Strasse, which is now full of architectural relics from the time of the Habsburg dynasty but was once a complex of impenetrable walls designed to keep out the Ottoman Turks.
Other attractions worth looking out for include the grand Opera House and the Hofburg Palace, while 19th-century architect Otto Wagner's Postsparkasse stands as a leading example of the Secession movement.
Ms Payne also highlights some of the musical experiences on offer in Vienna, revealing that she attended a performance of Mahler's Ninth Symphony at the Musikverein concert hall one evening before spending a night dancing at Tanzcafe Jenseits the following day.
