Segway tours recommended for Washington visitors

Travellers looking for an innovative and memorable way to explore Washington DC have been encouraged to take a Segway tour.
The Segway is a self-balancing, personal transportation device based on two wheels that responds to the user's movements and 'senses' when it should speed up or slow down.
Capital Region USA, an agency that promotes trips to Washington, Maryland and Virginia, said that tours on the vehicles provide a 'unique way' to explore Washington DC and see the White House, the US Capitol, parks and monuments.
Segway excursions are also available in Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco in the US, as well as the European cities of Vienna, Paris, Munich, Budapest and Berlin.
Another option recommended by the organisation is the DC Duck experience, which allows visitors to explore Washington DC via the Potomac river in an original World War II amphibious vehicle.
Travellers exploring the region can also head to destinations such as the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park.
