Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hurrying to book flights to Madrid after their team were drawn against one of the giants of European football in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Spurs will play the first leg of their tie against Real Madrid in the Spanish capital on 5 April before facing their opponents at White Hart Lane in north London on 13 April.

The Premier League club have already shown their ability to compete in Europe by beating AC Milan in the first knockout stage of the Champions League and will be eager to show their quality against the side from Spain.

Manchester United and Chelsea, the other two English teams still competing in the tournament, have been drawn against one another, meaning fans will be catching flights up and down the country when the two legs of the tie are played in London and Manchester on 6 and 12 April respectively.

Inter Milan will take on Schalke in the quarter-final stage of the competition, while Barcelona will play Shakhtar Donetsk.
