Hospitality chain Ritz-Carlton has opened a new property which it claims is the world's highest hotel.

The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is located at the top of the International Commerce Centre, occupying floors 102 to 118.

It comprises 312 guest rooms offering panoramic views of the city and harbour, as well as amenities including wireless internet access, iPod docking stations, Blu-ray players and flat screen televisions.

The hotel features six dining venues, including Tin Lung Heen, a Chinese eatery serving Cantonese cuisine, and Tosca, an Italian restaurant with an open kitchen.

Guests can also pay a visit to the Chocolate Library, a lounge on the 103rd floor, or enjoy a drink at the Ozone bar on the 118th floor.

Herve Humler, Ritz-Carlton's president and chief operations officer, described the new hotel as 'the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to delivering the very best product, facilities and service in this international gateway city'.

He added: 'Partnering with Hong Kong's premier developer, Sung Hung Kai Properties, we have been able to create something truly spectacular to welcome our guests not just to the highest hotel in the world, but also to one of the very best hotels in the world.'
