New carnival show opens in Las Vegas

New carnival show opens in Las Vegas
8 Apr 2011

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas provides the backdrop for a new show that is described by the local tourist board as a 'fantastical blend of carnival and spectacle'.

Absinthe transforms the Roman plaza area in front of Caesars Palace into a maze of tents and venues encompassing an adult carnival, a secret speakeasy and a beer garden offering all sorts of drinking games.

Every evening, visitors are treated to performances that take place in the Spiegeltent, which is decorated with mirrors, stained glass and velvet.

Absinthe is not the only recent addition to Las Vegas' live entertainment offering, with award-winning performer Gladys Knight currently headlining a special show at the Tropicana.

Knight is joined by four singers and dancers, as well as an 11-piece band playing hits such as Midnight Train to Georgia, as well as more recent releases like Settle.

Visitors might also be interested in heading to Mandalay Place to visit the first official Guinness store in the US.
