EasyJet begins Tallinn flights from Liverpool
27 Apr 2011

EasyJet this week introduced a new route linking Liverpool John Lennon airport to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

The low-cost carrier launched the service yesterday (26 April) and will offer three weekly flights to the destination, which is becoming increasingly popular for city breaks.

Currently boasting European Capital of Culture status, Tallinn has a historic centre with cobbled streets and medieval buildings, as well as a range of modern amenities including shops, restaurants and nightlife venues.

Ali Gayward, easyJet's UK commercial manager, said: 'Tallinn is a rising alternative city break destination as it beautifully brings the city's medieval history together with its modern art galleries, stylish cafes and chic restaurants.'

The route launch was welcomed by the city's communications director Maris Hellrande, who said: 'We are looking forward to welcoming visitors from Liverpool to Tallinn for our special year. We offer locals and visitors thousands of cultural events within the 251 projects of the European Capital of Culture.'

EasyJet now offers 32 routes from Liverpool, with flights to Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Krakow and other popular destinations also available from the airport.

Last month, the airline introduced a new route linking north-west England to Gibraltar.
