Fans of Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel Gone With the Wind, and the classic movie that followed it, will soon be able to see rare pieces of the book's manuscript on display in Atlanta, the setting for the story and the author's home city.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the publication, the manuscript will be presented at the Atlanta History Center from 4 June to 5 September 2011.

Visitors will be able to see the last four chapters of the book, with the individual sheets comprising the final chapter being mounted on the wall for guests to examine and read.

The exhibition will also feature the original desk that Mitchell used while writing Gone With the Wind, as well as letters by the author, photographs and first-edition copies of the novel.

Fans of the book and the film can save 20% by purchasing joint tickets to the Atlanta History Center and Margaret Mitchell's House, where the story was brought to life.

Several carriers operate flights to Atlanta, including Delta, KLM, Continental and Air Canada.
