25 May 2011
Holidaymakers heading to Hong Kong this year can make the most of their time in the city by using its first sightseeing smart card.
The See Hong Kong Pass, which has been launched by iVenture Card, provides access to more than 15 attractions in the destination, including the Peak Tram, Big Bus Tours, a dim sum cooking class and a number of leading museums.
Holders of the card will also be entitled to a free trip to Macau.
Visitors can choose from passes covering one, two or three consecutive days, with prices starting from HK$399 (£32) for the shortest option.
Thibault Paquin, iVenture Card Asia's managing director and operator of the See Hong Kong Pass, said: 'The sightseeing smart card concept is relatively new to Asia.
'Hong Kong was selected as one of the first destinations in Asia to launch the pass as we see great potential in the 'free and independent tourist' market and have received terrific support from the participating attractions and local tourism bodies.'
The city's tourism industry experienced growth of 22% last year, welcoming a record 36m visitors.
