David Lynch nightclub to tempt Paris visitors

Renowned filmmaker David Lynch has announced that he will be opening a themed nightclub, inspired by his movie Mulholland Drive, later this summer to tempt city break visitors staying in hotels in Paris.

Club Silencio, which will be named after a venue from the director's highly acclaimed 2001 film, will feature a concert hall, a restaurant, a library and a cinema as well as a nightclub, the Guardian reports.

Mulholland Drive, which stars Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring, is the story of a young Hollywood starlet and an amnesiac femme fatale, and it is widely seen by critics as one of Lynch's finest films.

The new venue will be situated on the popular Rue Montmartre at the centre of the French capital and the official opening is scheduled for 11 September.

Furthermore, the director himself is designing a private screening room, which will be part of the entertainment complex.

He recently told the New York Times that he is inspired by "how architecture and design create mood".
