People with a passion for seafood are being encouraged to visit Florida this year to sample some of the cuisine on offer across the state and its islands.
One of the most popular local delicacies, lobster, will be showcased at an annual event in the Florida Keys.
Set to return from 12 to 14 August 2011, Key West Lobsterfest will celebrate the beginning of the season for the culinary treat with live music, a street fair and opportunities to try local lobster directly from street vendors' grills.
There will also be a Sunday brunch at the Doubletree Grand Key Resort by Hilton.
Lobster is not the only seafood on offer in Florida, with stone crab claws, Key West pink shrimp, yellowtail snapper, mahi-mahi and much more available in the Keys.
Eateries known for their seafood and fish dishes include the nine one five restaurant on Duval Street, Key West and Pierre's in Islamorada.
