Legoland Florida to open in October

Families can now begin planning their trips to the US to visit Legoland Florida, following the announcement that the attraction will open on 15 October 2011.
The 150-acre theme park will be aimed at children between the ages of two and 12 years and will feature a range of experiences, including rollercoasters, race car rides and family shows.
Todd Andrus, sales manager for Legoland Florida, estimated that about 80% of enquiries the park has already received have been about the opening date.
'Guests are all but begging to know the date, so they can book their flights and accommodation and purchase admission tickets,' he added.
Operated by Merlin Entertainments, the new attraction is located halfway between the Florida cities of Orlando and Tampa, about 45 minutes from the centre of each destination.
Legoland parks are currently welcoming visitors in Carlsbad, California; Billund, Denmark; Gunzburg, Germany; and Windsor in the UK.
