Families offered airport tips

Families offered airport tips
28 Jun 2011

Families planning to catch flights abroad this year have been given some useful tips to help make their airport experience as stress-free as possible.

Life assistance company CPP advised doing as much as possible in advance online, with services such as web check-in and electronic boarding pass delivery reducing the amount of time that travellers need to spend at the airport.

Holidaymakers could also benefit from choosing to fly from a regional base, as larger hubs tend to be busier and more congested.

Other strategies for minimising stress and using time efficiently include taking carry-on luggage where possible and paying to use fast-track security lanes.

Joanne Gibbons from CPP said: 'We'd urge families to have a strategy for staying calm prior to boarding - by checking in online, minimising the amount of luggage they check in and taking advantage of airport lounge opportunities.'

The company also released a survey highlighting changes that could make the airport experience more pleasant, with fewer queues, more seats, quiet areas and lounge access among the most popular choices.
