Kissimmee 'a good base for exploring Florida's great outdoors'

Travellers planning to take part in some outdoor activities during trips to Florida have been encouraged to consider staying in the city of Kissimmee.

Rene Kuziv, senior sales representative at the local tourist board, said that Kissimmee is a 'great base' for exploring the 'great outdoors' in the state.

She pointed out that the destination can often provide a break from hot and busy days spent visiting central Florida's famous theme parks and could also be an affordable option for holidaymakers visiting the region.

'Kissimmee has a plethora of outdoor activities, from Forever Florida eco safaris - which invite visitors to ride through conservation [areas] on horseback, zip line through the wilderness and explore its wildlife - to Kissimmee's Lake Toho that welcomes air boat rides, pontoon boating, fishing and birding adventures,' said Ms Kusiv.

International travellers can fly directly to the city or catch flights to Orlando, which is located less than 20 miles away.
