Perth's beaches and bars a hit with tourists

Perth's beaches and bars a hit with tourists
8 Jul 2011

Perth's principal tourist attractions have been given a glowing review by visitors to the city.

As well as its several beaches, the capital of Western Australia is also home to a number of tourist hotspots, among them the Perth Zoo, King's Park, the WA Museum and the King's Park.

And, according to a new study carried out by the virtualtourist.com, there is more to these than simply hype, with a majority of those visitors polled recording a positive experience.

Furthermore, Perth's vibrant small bars and boutique shopping scene was also praised in the study, though respondents did note that a lack of public transport in the early hours of the morning perhaps made a big night out in the state capital that bit more difficult than in the likes of Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

This comes as the family-friendly Perth Zoo welcomes new additions to its menagerie in the shape of a new litter of endangered African painted dogs.
