Travellers heading to Dublin in the near future will be able to see three new exhibitions set to be launched at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).

Out of the Dark Room, a display of more than 450 photographs from the archive of American collector David Kronn, will open on 20 July and run until 9 October 2011.

It will feature images ranging from 19th-century daguerreotypes to contemporary works, as well as several pieces by Irving Penn, Kenneth Josephson and Harry Callahan.

Another showcase opening at the IMMA this month will focus on the work of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, concentrating specifically on his explorations of the theme of night through videos, photographs and installations.

The subject of the third and final display launching at the museum this month is artist Gerard Byrne and his experimentations in the fields of film and photography, which he presents as large-scale installations.

Both the Weerasethakul and Byrne exhibitions will open on 27 July and run until 31 October this year.
