Families invited to Pays de la Loire
18 Jul 2011

Families planning a trip to France have been encouraged to pay a visit to the Pays de la Loire region, which is home to several attractions that cater for guests of all ages.

The local tourist board highlighted locations such as the Machines of the Ile de Nantes gallery, which is described as 'both a laboratory and an exhibition'.

Highlights to look out for include the Tree of Herons - a 28-metre-high structure that features two herons at the top - and a 12-metre-high elephant comprising 40 tonnes of steel and wood.

The Pays de la Loire tourist board also recommended Anjou for families, with attractions such as the Chateau de Montsoreau, the zoo at Doue-la-Fontaine and the Museum of Armoury in Saumur offering a range of memorable experiences.

A new website has been launched to focus on the appeal of the region for parents and children, as well as a Facebook page dedicated to the seaside resort of Saint-Jean-de-Monts.

One way for travellers to reach the Pays de la Loire region is by catching flights to Nantes, which are available with easyJet, Flybe, Air France and other carriers.
