EasyJet to boost Gatwick to Aberdeen flights

EasyJet to boost Gatwick to Aberdeen flights

EasyJet has announced that, following the strong customer response to its new route from London Gatwick to Aberdeen, it will increase frequency to twice-daily flights during the winter 2011-12 season.

The airline pointed out that the service offers significant benefits over train travel for business and leisure passengers alike.

With rail journeys from London to Aberdeen taking at least eight hours each way, catching return flights between the cities reduces overall travel time by more than 13 hours.

Paul Simmons, easyJet's UK director, said: 'It's never been quicker, easier or more affordable to take a trip from the capital to the north of Scotland.'

He added: 'With such beautiful scenery, cosmopolitan mixture of shops and restaurants and business networking opportunities in Scotland's third largest city, few people have the time or money to waste on making the journey by train.'

The low-cost carrier has been expanding its range of services available from London Gatwick this year, with flights being launched to Seville, Bologna, Zagreb, Verona and other destinations.
