Travellers visiting Bali during a tour of Indonesia will discover an island with a 'mystical allure', according to an industry expert.

Sanjay Sondhi, chief executive of service and hospitality brand OM Tourism, said the destination 'seduces the heart and soul alike' with its combination of spirituality, tranquility and a sense of adventure.

He recommended activities such as visiting the beaches in Lovina to swim with dolphins and seeing the hillside rice fields in Ubud.

'[Bali also has] unique five-star hotel complexes, with pristine beaches in Nusa Dua, chic restaurants and bars in Seminyak and Jimbran, and trendy shopping in Legia,' added Mr Sondhi.

'Not to mention the sacred temple at Tanah Lot and Ulluwatu.'

A trip to the island could also prove a popular option among adventure seekers, with exciting activities such as deep sea diving, river rafting and even climbing a volcano all available to visitors.

Travellers can catch flights to Denpasar, the Balinese capital, with international carriers such as British Airways, Qantas and Singapore Airlines.
