Modern art enthusiasts visiting southern Spain over the coming months will have the opportunity to see a new exhibition featuring photographs of Pablo Picasso.

The display, which brings together images captured by photojournalist David Douglas Duncan, will be based at the Museo Picasso in Malaga until 25 September.

It features 115 shots drawn from the thousands that Duncan took of the artist and his various surroundings between 1956 and 1961, which provide an insight into the vibrant and endlessly creative world in which he lived.

Also included in the exhibition are 77 of Picasso's works appearing in the photographs.

Some of these pieces are being shown at the museum for the first time, such as the sculptures La mona y su cria (Baboon and Young, 1951) and Mujer con llave (Woman with Key, 1954-1957).

Culture vultures planning to visit Malaga can also check out the city's Contemporary Art Centre, which is home to a diverse collection of modern artworks and installations.
