Sir Roger Moore 'to add humour' to Dubrovnik music festival
27 Jul 2011
Sir Roger Moore is set to pay a visit to Dubrovnik on Croatia's Adriatic coast this summer to appear at a festival in the city.
The Croatian National Tourist Board announced that the British actor will 'inject a little humour' to the 11th Julian Rachlin and Friends chamber music festival by examining the 'often ignored fun and comical side of classical music'.
He will not be the only famous face appearing in Dubrovnik for the event, with Hollywood star John Malkovich set to take on the role of 'the music critic'.
Due to run from 27 August to 8 September, the Julian Rachlin and Friends festival will comprise a series of concerts in different venues around the city, including the Rector's Palace.
Pieces composed by the likes of Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms and Mendelssohn will be performed by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and other ensembles and soloists.
