Bangkok voted world's best city

Readers of Travel and Leisure magazine have named Bangkok the world's best city for 2011.
In the publication's 2011 World's Best Awards, the Thai capital took top spot in the city category ahead of destinations like Florence, New York and Sydney, which also emerged as popular options.
Santorini in Greece took the title of 'world's best island', while Tanzania's Singita Grumeti Reserves was voted the top hotel.
Singapore Airlines' success in the category covering international air carriers means the company has now retained its top ranking for every year since the awards survey began in 1996.
Virgin America was also recognised this year, with an accolade for the best domestic airline.
Nancy Novogrod, Travel and Leisure's editor-in-chief, said the results highlight the enduring appeal of 'remote and exotic' destinations offering a sense of 'authenticity and adventure'.
She added: 'The top ten hotels overall are African camps and lodges; resorts in India; a property in Chiang Mai; and a luxury lodge in Montana.
'The top cities overall span the globe - Bangkok, Florence, New York, Istanbul, Siem Reap and Sydney, to mention a few.'
