Santiago 'caters for all sorts of visitors'

The diversity of Santiago, Chile's capital city, means it can cater for the needs and interests of all sorts of travellers.
That is according to Cristian Lopez, UK director of government agency ProChile, who described Santiago as an 'exciting' destination.
He pointed out that it offers plenty of choice in terms of accommodation as well as attractions and activities.
'With new and contemporary hostels for backpackers, lavish hotels for those seeking out luxury and excellent facilities for business travellers, the city offers something for everyone,' said Mr Lopez.
'[As well as] museums and art galleries, you can also enjoy fine dining in Santiago in a wide variety of restaurants with both local and international cuisine.'
He recommended the city's Ritz, Grand Hyatt and W hotels as good options for visitors looking for a touch of luxury.
Those planning to extend their travels beyond the capital can head to nearby wine valleys, coastal towns and the Unesco World Heritage port of Valparaiso.
