30 Aug 2011

Aer Lingus has launched a new application and mobile website providing a range of services for travellers.

People flying with the airline can review their travel details, check in for their journey, receive alerts and check real-time flight information.

Passengers can now check in and receive a mobile boarding pass on their way to the airport, enjoying a 'more seamless and convenient' experience, said Aer Lingus' e-commerce manager Stuart Lattimore.

Currently available on routes to Dublin from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham, the facility is due to be rolled out network-wide over the coming months.

'This is phase one of a number of phases to be introduced as mobile technology advances,' said Mr Lattimore.

'It is a direct response to the needs and demands of our customers and puts control into their hands.'

Aer Lingus revealed that customer reaction to the app has been positive, with more than 27,000 downloads already recorded.
