BA refreshing onboard wine lists

BA refreshing onboard wine lists
2 Sep 2011

British Airways is refreshing its range of available wines and champagnes with the aim of creating 'an inflight cellar any Michelin-star restaurant would be proud of'.

Among the products being introduced from this month is Grand Siecle by Laurent-Perrier, which normally retails at £120.

The luxury beverage will be available to BA's first class passengers for the next year, while a new champagne for Club World guests will be announced in October.

Particular wines are being selected to match dishes on inflight menus and will be introduced on certain routes to fit in with the customer demographic, destination and time of day.

Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Le Champ Gain 2007 and Corton Bressandes Grand Cru 2008 will be added to flights to Asia later this year.

Frank van der Post, BA's managing director of brands and customer experience, said: 'It's always important that the wines we serve reflect the style, sophistication and quality of the onboard experience, and with this investment we have no doubt that British Airways will raise the bar for wines [in] the sky.'
