New museum exhibitions in Berlin
22 Sep 2011

History and culture buffs visiting Berlin over the coming months will be able to check out some new exhibitions in the city.

One of the highlights to look out for is a presentation of Yadegar Asisi's 360-degree panorama devoted entirely to Pergamon, an ancient Greek city located in modern-day Turkey.

The exhibition will feature a photorealistic display of buildings and sculptures inside a purpose-built rotunda in the courtyard of Berlin's Pergamon Museum, as well as artefacts and excavations from the Helleno-Roman city.

Visitors will be able to see the show from 30 September this year.

Currently running in the German capital is Renaissance Faces, a showcase of Italian Renaissance portraits featuring pieces by influential artists including Leonardo da Vinci, Lippi and Botticelli.

Due to remain on view at the Bode Museum until 20 November this year, the exhibition also includes a selection of medals, sketches, sculptures and other pieces highlighting the artistic and cultural legacy of the Renaissance.
