Dubai Airports looking for global brands for A380 facility

Dubai Airports looking for global brands for A380 facility
27 Sep 2011

Dubai Airports has launched a search for 'world-class' food and beverage brands and service providers for the new concourse at Dubai International airport, which will be the largest airside facility dedicated to the Airbus A380.

The concourse, which is currently under construction, will be part of the terminal complex reserved for use by Emirates.

It will boost the airport's annual passenger capacity from the current 60m to 85m and play an important part in the hub's plan to expand and improve its infrastructure.

Operator Dubai Airports is asking brands and service providers to express their interest in opening outlets at the new site by 16 October.

Eugene Barry, the company's vice president of commercial operations, said: 'As we continue to emerge as a leading global hub, the available brand concepts and calibre of services at our airports have to match, and even exceed, the rising expectations of an increasingly international clientele.'

He went on to say that the new concourse will provide a 'blank canvas' to help Dubai International set higher standards for the industry.

Construction of the A380-dedicated facility is expected to conclude before the end of 2012.
