Abu Dhabi to showcase new hotels and resorts
5 Oct 2011

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) will use this year's World Travel Market (WTM) in London as an opportunity to showcase some of the new hotels and resorts due to open in the emirate.

Several major chains and brands are expanding their presence in Abu Dhabi, including Fairmont and Mandarin Oriental.

Both the Fairmont Abu Dhabi and a new Mandarin Oriental property on Saadiyat Island are due to open their doors next year.

Mubarak Al Nuaimi, the ADTA's international promotions manager, revealed that the forthcoming World Travel Market will also provide a platform for the promotion of attractions, beachfront developments and events in the destination.

He added: 'WTM 2011 will be the travel industry's opportunity to engage with a destination which is receiving record numbers of hotel guests and which is prioritising tourism in its long-term economic and social development plans.'

Abu Dhabi has been proving particularly popular among British travellers in recent times, with a 22% increase in UK arrivals in 2010.
