New museum gallery to open in Vancouver

Travellers making early plans for a trip to Vancouver in summer next year can look forward to visiting a brand new cultural attraction in the city.
For the first time in its 125-year history, the Royal BC Museum, which is located in the British Columbian capital of Victoria, will open a satellite gallery in Vancouver.
The Royal BC Museum at Wing Sang in the Chinatown district is due to begin welcoming guests from June 2012.
It will open with an exhibition dedicated to the early life of Emily Carr, a Canadian artist and writer who was inspired by the indigenous peoples of North America's Pacific north-west coast.
Every summer, the gallery will display various collections, artefacts and treasures from the Royal BC Museum.
The Wing Sang Building currently serves as the home of the Rennie collection, one of the largest archives of contemporary art in Canada.
Other cultural attractions that holidaymakers might want to check out during trips to Vancouver include the Museum of Anthropology and Vancouver Art Gallery.
