Legoland Florida 'will appeal to young and old alike'

Parents planning to visit the new Legoland Florida park during a trip to the US have been reassured that the site will offer fun and entertainment for all ages.

Jo Eckersley, UK public relations representative for the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau, pointed out that the complex is based in Winter Haven, the home of the state's first ever theme attraction - Cypress Gardens.

'This is the site that's now become Legoland Florida,' she added.

'It retains all of the best bits of Cypress Gardens, from the magical appeal for the under-12s audience to beautiful botanical gardens and the world famous water-ski show, all of which are … retained in some form or another in the new Legoland Florida.'

Due to open on 15 October 2011, the park will boast more than 50 rides, shows and other attractions.

Ms Eckersley also encouraged holidaymakers visiting central Florida to check out Bok Tower Gardens, which is home to botanical gardens, a bell tower and a stately home.
