Frommers: Bali caters for all sorts of visitors

The diversity of Bali means that the destination can provide activities and attractions to suit a range of travellers with differing interests, according to Frommers, a publisher and travel information provider.

Visitors to the Indonesian island can choose from various outdoor activities, such as surfing, snorkelling and diving, all of which are highly popular.

Frommers.com editor Mark Henshall pointed out that the selection of experiences available sets Bali apart from other coastal destinations that are geared towards rest and relaxation.

'It's not just got the beaches, it has got tropical birds, monkeys, wildlife, safaris, exotic plants, et cetera,' added Mr Henshall.

'You have got the lush, green hills and mountains, the rice fields and the volcanoes.'

Those looking for luxury can visit some of Bali's spas or book a room at one of the island's five-star hotels, while attractions with a religious or spiritual side are becoming increasingly popular on the back of the film Eat Pray Love.

Other islands that travellers can see during a tour of Indonesia include Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi.
