Singapore's ArtScience Museum launches largest ever exhibition

The ArtScience Museum at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands resort this weekend launched the largest display in its history.
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition opened on Saturday (29 October) and will close in April 2012, marking the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters in history.
Visitors can see more than 275 items that once rested more than 3,800 metres below the surface of the ocean and are being presented in south-east Asia for the first time.
Among the highlights is a bronze cherub that decorated the ship's grand staircase, which has become one of the most famous relics from the Titanic collection.
The exhibition also includes a chandelier that once hung in the vessel's exclusive a la carte restaurant, a silver-plated lamp that was recovered in 1987 and a toothpaste jar featuring the profile of a young Queen Victoria.
