New attraction coming to Discovery Cove, Orlando

New attraction coming to Discovery Cove, Orlando
16 Nov 2011

People planning family holidays in Florida in spring or summer next year will be able to check out the newest attraction at Discovery Cove in Orlando.

Freshwater Oasis will provide a range of new experiences for visitors, including face-to-face encounters with otters, marmosets and other animals.

The feature, which is due to open in spring 2012, will also have a rainforest canopy above and clear springs below, making it a natural fit with Discovery Cove's 'tropical vibe', according to operating company SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment.

Holidaymakers planning to rest and unwind during their trip to Florida can pay a visit to the In-Water Relaxation Station, where guests will be able to sunbathe while sipping cold drinks in the chairs that are built into the area.

Discovery Cove also boasts a lagoon where visitors can swim and play with dolphins, an aviary, the 2.5-acre Grand Reef complex and other attractions.

It is one of four Florida sites in the SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment stable, along with SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens.
