TurtleTrek attraction to open at SeaWorld Orlando

TurtleTrek attraction to open at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando will provide a new experience for people taking family holidays in Florida next year with a new attraction called TurtleTrek.

Described as a 'visual conservation experience', the show will use new technology to give guests an insight into the world of the sea turtle.

Visitors will enter a 3D, 360-degree dome - reportedly the first structure of its kind - and follow the reptile's journey through life, from hatching on a beach and making a frantic dash to the water to returning to the same spot years later to lay its own eggs.

SeaWorld Orlando will also open two large habitats next to the dome, one of which will accommodate hundreds of fish and manatees in fresh water.

The saltwater exhibit will also house more than 1,500 fish and over a dozen sea turtles.

TurtleTrek is not the only new attraction under development at SeaWorld Orlando, with Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin set to open in spring 2013.
