Taiwan to launch International Spotlight campaign
30 Nov 2011

The Taiwan Tourism Bureau has announced plans to launch International Spotlight, a new marketing campaign designed to boost travel to the destination in 2012.

Arranged to continue the momentum of the Tour Taiwan 100 initiative, the new project will showcase some of the unique and diverse experiences on offer in different parts of the island, which is part of the Republic of China.

Travellers around the world will be informed of the various attractions, restaurants and cultural features specific to each region, as well as some of the places and 'local gems' that should not be missed.

Another highlight for the Taiwanese tourism industry next year will be the expansion of the National Palace Museum, which will enlarge its exhibition area and open a 4.8-hectare 'cultural creative park'.

The museum is home to the largest and most valuable archive of Chinese artefacts in the world, encompassing more than 682,000 objects from various dynasties and republican periods.
