Legoland Water Park to open in Florida
6 Dec 2011
Just six weeks after its launch, Legoland Florida has announced plans to open a water park next year.
The development, which is scheduled for completion in time for the May half-term break, will feature a range of attractions including slides, pools and a lazy river.
Particular highlights for visitors to look out for include the Twin Chasers, a pair of intertwining flumes that stretch for 114 metres, and the Duplo Splash Safari play area for toddlers.
Parents will also be able to join their children in designing and building their own Lego raft to sail along the 300-metre lazy river surrounded by characters and palm trees.
The water park will be situated opposite the main Legoland Florida site, which is home to more than 50 rides, shows and attractions.
Visitors can explore areas such as Miniland USA and see Lego versions of famous American landmarks like San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and New York City's Statue of Liberty.
