Hard Rock Cafe has grand opening in Sydney
7 Dec 2011
The state of New South Wales in Australia is now home to a new attraction in the form of the Hard Rock Cafe Sydney, which had its grand opening last night (6 December).
A party to mark the unveiling of the site featured live performances by Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses fame and Jessica Sutta, formerly of the Pussycat Dolls.
Outside the cafe, there was an open-air concert with appearances from the likes of Altiyan Childs and DJ Lethal, followed by a fireworks display over Darling Harbour.
The 500-seat establishment boasts a live music area, a wraparound balcony affording views of the Sydney cityscape and outdoor terrace seating.
Guests can also see an array of rock 'n' roll and pop memorabilia, including items from music legends such as John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Matthew Putna, Hard Rock International's senior director of franchise operations and development in Asia and the South Pacific, said the company 'could not be more pleased' to bring its unique combination of music, entertainment and American cuisine to Sydney.
He added: 'We look forward to welcoming the city's locals and visitors alike to Darling Harbour for many years to come.'
Travellers exploring Australia will also find a Hard Rock Cafe in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
