Interactive Titanic exhibition to open in New England
13 Dec 2011
Travellers visiting the New England region in the north-east United States next spring will have the opportunity to visit an interactive exhibition offering a new perspective on the sinking of the Titanic.
The show, entitled Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below, will open at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut, on 12 April.
Arranged to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the infamous maritime disaster, the display is described by promotional agency Discover New England as 'one of the most thought-provoking new attractions' coming to the region in 2012.
The exhibition was developed by former Walt Disney 'imagineer' Tim Delaney and Dr Robert Ballard, the American marine explorer who became the first person to see the wreck of the ocean liner in 1985.
It will use high-definition interactive video and other tools to provide an insight into everything from the luxury of the Titanic to the moment the ship collided with an iceberg and began to sink.
Visitors will also be able to see interactive displays and touchscreens highlighting the power of the ocean and learn more about some of the myths and legends that have emerged over the past 100 years.
