Turkey 'offers visitors a warm welcome'
4 Jan 2012

Turkey's national tourist board has highlighted the warm welcome on offer to visitors as one of the country's top attractions.

Tolga Tuyluoglu, UK and Ireland director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, predicted that most consumers will still be taking overseas holidays this year despite the tough financial climate and identified the country as a good all-round choice.

Mr Tuyluoglu pointed out that Turkey is home to some 'fantastic' beach resorts and also provides numerous experiences for travellers interested in history and culture.

He added: 'The Turkish people are very friendly and welcoming to foreign guests and that can really make the difference between an average holiday and a really great one.'

Other factors that make a break in Turkey a good option, according to the tourist board director, include value for money and standards of accommodation, which have helped the nation build up a loyal following of visitors who return year after year.
