Travellers planning to book hotels in England for a break this year should have no trouble finding attractions and activities to fill their time, regardless of their tastes and interests, according to the national tourist board.
Laura Smith, destination public relations manager at VisitEngland, said the range of experiences on offer in the country is one of its greatest strengths.
She noted that this diversity comes in particularly useful during times of bad weather, a topic that the nation and its people are 'very practical about'.
'From museums and galleries to aquariums, there is a whole range of things to do to suit all ages and personalities,' said Ms Smith.
She pointed out that indoor attractions can serve as alternatives to trips to the zoo or countryside walks, offering specific examples such as the Eden Project in Cornwall and the Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm.
The coming year is expected to be a significant one for England's tourism industry owing to events such as the Olympic Games and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
