New theme park attractions opening in southern California

CityPASS, a company that provides ticket booklets offering savings for travellers visiting various destinations around the world, has highlighted some of the new theme park attractions set to open in southern California this year.
As part of a major expansion project, the Disneyland Resort is set to open a brand new area this summer - Cars Land.
Inspired by the animated film Cars, the 12-acre development will feature three new rides including Radiator Springs Racers, which will give visitors the opportunity to meet characters from the movie before taking part in a race to the finish line.
Due to open in spring 2012 is Transformers: The Ride - 3D, another spin-off from a film franchise that will feature a flight simulator and other experiences at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Meanwhile, SeaWorld San Diego will boost its visitor offering this year with the introduction of Manta, a launch rollercoaster that combines high-speed thrills with chances to see manta rays in giant aquariums and outdoor pools.
