Euro fall set to make holidays cheaper for Brits

Euro fall set to make holidays cheaper for Brits
10 Jan 2012

Holidays in popular European countries such as Spain, France and Portugal could become cheaper for Britons this year as a result of a fall in the value of the euro.

A pound now buys travellers $1.21, meaning sterling is now in its strongest position against the single European currency since September 2010.

As a result, UK consumers are being urged to book holidays on the continent to make the most of the opportunity to get more for their money, reports TravelMole.

Many people are expected to move quickly to obtain their foreign currency, to ensure they are able to get the best exchange rates before measures to address the recent eurozone crisis begin to take effect.

There are numerous holiday options available to travellers planning to visit Europe this year, from city breaks in popular hotspots such as Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam to sun holidays in the Algarve, southern Spain and the Greek islands.
