Bristol airport taking on more staff to boost customer experience
11 Jan 2012

Bristol airport has announced that it will be recruiting an extra 75 permanent workers this year as part of an initiative to improve the passenger experience.

Security provider ICTS will be seeking new staff to join its 200-strong team at the base in order to be prepared for developments including expansions in the flight programme and the introduction of two new passenger search channels.

Chris Ware, head of security at Bristol, said the search process is an 'essential part' of the security procedure required to comply with government regulations and a 'critical' aspect of the airport's operation.

'[ICTS is] dealing directly with thousands of passengers every day and, as such, makes a key contribution to the overall customer service the airport delivers,' he added.

In 2011, the base in south-west England experienced a strong year that included its busiest September on record, with more than 610,000 people catching flights with Aer Lingus, KLM, easyJet and other airlines during the month.
