Emirates doubling Glasgow to Dubai flights

UK travellers interested in exploring the Middle East will be offered more flights to Dubai from Glasgow airport this year.
Emirates has announced that it will introduce a second daily non-stop service on the route from 1 June.
The move is in response to strong demand for travel to Dubai from the Scottish base, with more than 1.7m passengers carried on the route since it was introduced in 2004.
As well as launching a new daily connection, Emirates will upgrade the aircraft operating on the existing service, meaning overall capacity will be increased by 47%, providing an additional 398 seats every day.
A first class cabin will also be made available on both flights.
Laurie Berryman, the airline's vice president in the UK and Ireland, said the announcement highlights the company's commitment to Scotland and its wider route network in the region.
He added: 'Our Glasgow route has been a real success story and we are extremely confident that there is the demand for additional services flying east to Dubai and onward to our global network of over 115 destinations.'
