Cultural events returning to Guernsey this year

Guernsey will offer a diverse range of cultural experiences and entertainment for visitors this year, with a series of popular events set to return to the island.
Among them is the biennial Victor Hugo International Music Festival, which is named after the creator of such celebrated literary works as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Les Miserables, who was a former resident of Guernsey.
Due to run from 16 to 21 July, the festival will feature performances by well-known figures and rising stars from the world of classical music.
Also set to return this year is the Guernsey Photography Festival (22 May-22 June), which is 'fast becoming a major event on the European photography calendar', according to the local tourism agency.
Culture vultures can also arrange trips to the island this year to check out the Guernsey Music Festival (23-24 June) and the Guernsey Literary Festival (13-16 September), both of which will be returning following successful launches in 2011.
Flights to the destination are available from London Gatwick, Southampton, Birmingham and other UK airports with Flybe.
