Travellers urged to discover hotels on outskirts of Paris
23 Jan 2012
Travellers planning to book hotels in Paris have been encouraged to search throughout the entire city to make the most of the diversity and choice on offer.
Sarah Woods, travel writer and presenter on ITV's Alan Titchmarsh show, said some nice properties are available on the outskirts of France's capital.
She noted that new developments are emerging in the less central parts of Paris because of the limited space available in the heart of the city.
'In the south … there is a cluster of new properties and they represent good value for money,' added Ms Woods.
'People don't mind travelling in for 15 minutes to come in to the centre of Paris.'
Commenting on the appeal of Paris in general, the travel expert noted that many people feel an affinity with the city owing to the iconic nature of sights such as the Eiffel Tower and its associations with luxury and romance.
Several major carriers operate flights to Paris, including British Airways, Air France and easyJet.
