Flybe announces new routes for summer 2012

Flybe has announced details of a number of new routes that will be introduced this summer, providing better access to regions such as Ireland's south coast and central France.
The airline will introduce a daily service from Birmingham to Waterford in Ireland, as well as a connection between Leeds Bradford and Knock, which will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Travellers will also be offered weekly flights from Belfast City to Newquay and a twice-weekly route from Southampton to Tours, the largest city in the Centre region of France.
Flybe's summer schedule will begin on 25 March this year and currently offers a choice of 208 services across the airline's network.
Commenting on the new launches, Andrew Strong, the carrier's managing director, said: 'Flybe is committed to developing our route network throughout the regions and to keeping business and leisure travellers moving during these … economically challenging times.'
The regional airline is also set to introduce new flights to Bergen and Newquay from Newcastle, while its franchise partner Loganair will offer four new links from Norwich to Exeter, the Isle of Man, Manchester and Southampton.
